CoolSculpting can help diminish flabbiness in the back of the arms and fat rolls at the bra lines. To determine if you are a candidate for this procedure, a clinical examination will be performed by your doctor to ensure that the excess tissue is pliable and can be easily drawn up into the CoolSculpting applicator.
Once you have been deemed a candidate for the procedure, photos will be taken of your arms and bra line region to establish a starting point. The area designated for application of the CoolSculpting suctioning cup will be marked out. A gel pad will be applied and an applicator that is designed to treat small areas of the body will be positioned to draw up the tissue and administer controlled cooling. As fat cells are less resistant to cold compared to any other cells in the body, the temperature is lowered just enough to ensure only fat cells are destroyed while leaving the muscle, nerves, overlying skin, and other structures unharmed. The procedure takes about an hour to be completed. Multiple applicators can be used to treat different areas simultaneously. Once the treatment is complete, the targeted area will be massaged for about a minute or two.
After the procedure, you may experience temporary redness, bruising, sensitivity and firmness of the targeted area. These are temporary side effects which resolve on their own within 1-2 weeks. After about 3 weeks, you will notice improved definition in your arms and reduction of the fat bulges along your bra lines. You will continue to notice improvements for up to 3-4 months following the procedure.
